IAS Anshuman Raj, a story of an UPSC Aspirant from studying under the lamp to clearing UPSC Exam in first attempt.
Cracking the UPSC exam is no easy feat, making it an impressive accomplishment for candidates who succeed in their first attempt. IAS officer Anshuman Raj achieved this remarkable feat despite facing personal challenges. His story is truly inspirational, proving that determination and hard work can lead to success even in the toughest of situations.
IAS Anshuman Raj hails from a humble background, born and raised in a small village called Buxor in Bihar. He led a simple life and attended Navodaya School for his schooling. After completing his 12th and graduation from Ranchi, he did not enjoy a luxurious lifestyle due to his family’s financial constraints.
Reports suggest that he used to study under the dim light of a kerosene lamp until he reached class ten. Despite facing these hardships, Anshuman remained determined and was supported by his parents throughout his journey, ultimately overcoming all challenges that came his way.
Anshuman’s unwavering determination and dedication led him to achieve a remarkable feat – clearing the Civil Services on his very first attempt. He chose self-study as his path to success in the administrative services and was selected for IRS (Indian Revenue Service).
However, Anshuman’s dream of becoming an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer still burned brightly within him. Driven by this ambition, he decided to give the UPSC exam another shot, determined to fulfill his ultimate aspiration of becoming an IAS officer.
Despite facing failures twice before, IAS Anshuman Raj did not give up on his dreams. Instead, he used each setback as a learning opportunity and worked hard to improve his weaknesses. With unwavering determination and perseverance, he attempted the UPSC Civil Services Examination for the fourth time. Finally, in the year 2019, his efforts paid off as he achieved an impressive All India Rank of 107, earning a well-deserved and respectable position in the exam.
IAS Anshuman Raj followed a unique approach in his UPSC preparation. Unlike many candidates, he didn’t join any coaching classes because he firmly believed that studying could be done from anywhere. During his initial three attempts, he resided in the village to focus on his preparation. This unconventional method showcases his determination and self-reliance in pursuing his dreams of cracking the UPSC exam.
